Safety and responsibility
How we compute it
- Difficulty and time are a model built from distance, ascent, surface and the shape of the profile. They do not account for your current fitness, fatigue, pack or the weather on the day.
- Exposure and steep sections come from elevation data and the map. Real passability (ice, mud, snow, landslide) cannot be read from data.
- Weather is a forecast (Open-Meteo). The further ahead, the less accurate.
- Avalanche and mountain rescue warnings are taken from official sources and can lag. The bulletin changes during the day too.
- Community reports (mud, snow, closure) are unverified input from users.
Check in the field
Before you set out, check the current state against official sources and decide by your own experience and the real conditions:
- Mountain rescue: hzs.sk, emergency line 18 300 (also 112).
- Avalanche situation: laviny.sk.
- Seasonal closures and national park visitor rules (e.g. TANAP).
Vanro does not replace judgement, experience or official sources. You go into the mountains at your own risk; Vanro is not liable for damage caused by relying on data in the app.
